Cloudy, cooler weather and more rain expected through Monday, NWS says

A car drives through a puddle on the morning of Sunday Jan Photo by Adrian Childress Cloudy skies and chances of more light showers were expected through Monday and possibly into Tuesday throughout San Diego County forecasters disclosed Sunday A strong area of low pressure was moving into the region bringing much cooler and windier weather across inland areas and certain possibility of thunderstorms The low will continue to slowly push eastward on Monday as another weak embedded shortwave keeps the trough overhead This will allow for another chance of showers for the mountains and deserts Monday afternoon and evening the National Weather System explained in a discussion Areas closer to the coast will gradually clear with selected sunshine by Monday afternoon forecasters added Mostly sunny and dry conditions will move into the region by Tuesday though areas near Big Bear may see a stray shower Sunday s temperatures will be much cooler than the normal average with a high temperature of degrees expected for Ramona and degrees for Borrego Springs which would tie the daily record for coolest high temperatures in both cities the NWS noted However temperatures will warm slightly by Monday with still warmer weather arriving on Tuesday City News Organization contributed to this assessment
